Regina Marion Salisbury

Regina Marion (Wasilewski) Salisbury, 92, of Narragansett and formerly of Exeter, passed away January 9th, 2015 following a five month battle with breast cancer. She would have been 93 on January 14th. She was the wife of the late Everett Wilson Salisbury. Born in Dearborn, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Frances (Ciszewski) Wasilewski. She leaves her daughter Janis M. Davis and fiancé Peter Akuna of Hawaii; son Everett E. Salisbury and wife Carol of Narragansett; a sister Adeline Tarter of Michigan and sister Geraldine Weber and husband James of Florida; grandsons Bryce and wife Rika Davis of Hawaii and Jason and wife Elizabeth of Colorado; four great grandsons and one great granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson Jonathan E. Salisbury and a brother Robert Wasilewski. Mrs. Salisbury, who formerly worked for the telephone company in Michigan, met her husband while he was in the Royal Canadian Air Force stationed in Canada. Following their marriage on January 1st, 1944 in Dearborn, Michigan they settled in Rhode Island. Mrs. Salisbury, who loved to sing, was a former communicant and member of the choir of St. Joseph’s Church, Hope Valley and currently a communicant and member of the choir of St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church in Narragansett. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church in Narragansett. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Fairview Ave, Coventry. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 143 Main St., Wakefield, RI 02879.
