Regina Royal Reckling, age 74, died after a long battle with diabetes on December 8, 2015 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Doris M. (Perry) LaCorbiniere and the late Clifford T. Reckling, Jr. She was employed at the University of Rhode Island for 30 years as a computer operator after which she was a member in good standing on the Narragansett Indian Tribal Council for 12 years. Her interest included family genealogy, art work, and listening to stories from her elders. One of her greatest accomplishments was receiving the Dean’s Award from the College of Resource Development with gratitude for outstanding service in its centennial year back in 1988. She was a resident of Indian Run Village Apartments where she enjoyed many hours with her friends. She leaved behind one dear brother, Robert T. Reckling of Warwick and a host of cousins and friends. During her long illness, she wants to mention one of her R.N nurses and good friend, Betty Murphy from the VNS who has spent many, many golden hours with her and turned cloudy days into sunshine. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday December 15, 2015 at 11:00 am in St. Peters by the Sea Episcopal Church, 72 Central St, Narragansett, RI. Burial will follow in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
