Raymond M. West, Jr.

Raymond M. West Jr., 84, of Oak Hill Rd., Narragansett, died Tuesday April 19, 2011 at South County Hospital. He was the husband of Jean (Scott) West. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Raymond M. and Mildred G. (Heselwood) West. Mr. West was a W.W. II US Navy Veteran. He was a Civil Engineer of Rustic Contemporary Homes for many years before retiring. He was a life member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, a former member and past president of the South Kingstown Lions Club and the first chairman of the Narragansett Planning Board. Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Scott B. West and Dean B. West of Narragansett and two grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Robert West. At the request of Mr. West funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pt. Judith Fisherman’s Scholarship Fund, PO Box 386, Narragansett, RI 02882.
