Raymond F. Monahan

Raymond F. Monahan, 82, of Wakefield, died Thursday. He was the beloved husband of the late Norma (Pickavant) Monahan. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph E. and Frances (Burke) Monahan. Mr. Monahan was employed as an Underground Electric Technician at Narragansett Electric for 45 years. A lifelong New York Yankees Fan, he died with his Yankee Baseball Hat and Blanket and spent his Honeymoon at Yankee Stadium. He is survived by two daughters, Paula F. Monahan of South Kingstown and Frances E. Ferris of North Smithfield; and four grandchildren, Ryan, Christopher, Kyle and Holly. He was the father of the late Raymond D. Monahan and brother of the late Joseph E. Monahan, Jr. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 24 at 10 AM at the Chapel at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 245 Waterman Street, Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906.
