Raymond Gilbert Kenyon, Sr. (95) of West Kingston passed at home surrounded by mementos from a life filled with love. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of nearly 68 years, Margaret (Butson) Kenyon. Born February 11, 1927, to the late George Irving Kenyon, Sr. & Emma (Williams) in East Greenwich, Ray was the brother of Beatrice Merritt of Florida and the late Charles Kenyon, George Irving Kenyon, Jr., Francis Kenyon, Gertrude Kenyon, Albert Kenyon, Florence Coleman, Ethel Northway, Dorothy Sprague, Phyllis Gelson, Leslie Kenyon, Lillian Walker, Grace Hampton, Shirley Manter and Esther Rollinson. He leaves behind to cherish his memory and retell his infamous Dad Jokes, seven children: Judith Rodrigues, James Kenyon, Matthew Kenyon, Margaret Tuoni, Raymond Kenyon, Jr., Susan Dinonsie and Daniel Kenyon. He will be remembered by his sixteen grandchildren for his bear hugs & whisker tickles. He found immense joy in his eleven great-grandchildren & impacted the lives of so many other extended family members & friends. Ray was a man of great strength and indomitable work ethic. Long will tales be retold of his heroic feats as a US Army Paratrooper testing parachutes in Alaska during World War II. He completed training in service to God at New Brunswick Bible Institute in 1977 & his exceptional faith was lifelong. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and took great joy in canoeing the Allagash River for many years. Those who remember him are asked to continue his tradition of enthusiastic storytelling. A funeral service will be held for Raymond on Friday, August 12, 2022, at 11 am in Avery Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. A burial will follow in New Fernwood Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022, from 5 to 7 pm at Avery Storti Funeral Home.
