Raymond E. Greene, Sr.

Raymond E. Greene Sr., 81, of Wakefield, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2015. He was the husband of Eva (Leeming) Greene. Born in Narragansett, he was the son of the late Edward and Margaret (Timpson) Greene. Mr. Greene was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was an oil burner repairman for O’Neill Oil before retiring. Mr. Greene was a member of VFW Post 916, American Legion Downey Weaver Post and South Kingstown Elks Lodge 1899. He enjoyed camping, cooking, football and spending time with his family. Besides his wife he leaves his children, Fredrick Greene, Edward Greene and his wife Theresa; Brenda Richmond and her husband Gary, Teresa Greene, Betsy Gifford and her husband David, Evelyn Greene and her husband Michael Hilditch and the late Raymond Greene Jr.; six grandchildren and a deceased grandson Christopher David Greene; and seven great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Edward Greene Jr. and Fredrick Greene. A committal service with military honors will be held Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at noon in the RI Veterans Cemetery Chapel, 301 South County Trail, Exeter.
