Raymond Goodness

January 14, 1957 — June 1, 2023

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Raymond Goodness, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and master electrician, on June 1st at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He was 66 years old.

Raymond was the son of the late Leon and Marie (Butler) Goodness. He was born on January 14, 1957, where he grew up in North Kingstown. He dedicated his life to the craft of electrical work and proudly served as a master electrician. His expertise and passion for his trade were evident in every project he undertook. After a successful career, he retired from Kenyon Mill in 2002 and moved with his family to Oakfield, Maine—leaving behind a legacy of excellence in electrical machinery.

Raymond had a zest for life and enjoyed various hobbies. He was an avid NASCAR enthusiast, and the Kansas City Chiefs held a special place in his heart. He never missed an opportunity to support his team. He recently traveled the entire country with his brother, Sonny Goodness, taking in the beauty of America.

Central to Ray’s life was his beautiful wife, Linde. They shared a love that endured through the years, enriching each other's lives with support, laughter, and companionship. Their relationship was an inspiration to all who knew them.

Ray was a devoted husband, brother to Sonny, Marie, Jimmy, Debbie, and the late Shirley. He was a dear friend to many, especially Barbara and Cliff, and a father who took immense pride in his children—Carrie, Candice, Nicholas, Amanda, Sean, Haley and Jennifer. He embraced his role with love and dedication, imparting valuable life lessons, and offering unwavering support, especially when things needed to be fixed. His children were his pride and joy, and he cherished the time spent together, creating lasting memories and shaping their lives.

As a grandfather, Ray was a constant source of love and affection. He adored his grandchildren, and relished in their company. Whether sharing stories, attending sporting events, fishing, or simply spending quality time, he found immense happiness in being a guiding presence in their lives.

A celebration of Ray’s life will be held at Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield on June 6th, 2023 from 5-7 pm. Family, friends, and all who knew him are invited to join in honoring his memory.

Although our hearts ache with grief, we find solace in knowing that Ray has found eternal peace. May his spirit live on in our hearts, and may his memory be a guiding light in our lives. Ray was a man of the Lord. Although gone from our sight, never from our memories. Until we meet again. Love, your family.
