Ray H. Kenyon, 71, of Exeter, RI passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 24, 2023. He was the beloved life partner of Carol DeSalvo.
Born in South Kingstown, he was the son of Elsie Schmidt (Hayward) and Ray L. Kenyon.
Ray held many jobs in his life. He worked at the Wakefield Branch, Benny’s, driving forklift at Ted Reed Thermal and Aqua Science in Exeter. During his later years, he helped maintain and clean various South County Beaches during the summer.
He was a member of the RI Soaring Club AMA Chapter 1478, and he loved flying model planes. He also designed and sold various kinds of wearable angel wings that open and closed. He loved to display them and would invite anyone to wear his wings with him to places like Renaissance Fairs and other events.
He also loved roller skating and was well known at Narragansett Ocean Club. When the rink closed, he continued going to other rinks in Massachusetts and Connecticut up until his death.
Besides his partner, Carol, he leaves behind his daughter, Janis Kenyon, 49 of Warwick, RI. A sister Lynn Straight of Exeter, 2 nephews Brian Straight and Scott Straight, and 2 nieces: Janie Straight and Lauren DeSalvo.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023, from 4 PM to 6 PM, at Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St. Wakefield.
