Ralph E. Spaltholz, 59, of Punch Bowl Trail died unexpectedly Friday. He was the husband of Renee (Perron) Spaltholz and they were married 25 years. Born in Elmhurst, IL, he was a son of the late Gerhardt and Ruth (Winkelmann) Spaltholz. Mr. Spaltholz was an engineer with Verizon and after retiring he was employed for Arnold Lumber in West Kingston. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, skiing, boating and he was a history buff receiving a History Degree from the University of Rhode Island in 2000. He was a member and active volunteer at the St. Andrew Lutheran Church. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Kyle and Mark Spaltholz, both at home, a sister, Dorene Schulz and her husband Herbert of Naperville, IL., and mother-in-law, Norma E. Sears of Richmond. He was the brother of the late W. John Spaltholz. A funeral service will be Monday at 4 PM in St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 15 East Beach Road, Charlestown. Burial will be Tuesday 11 AM in Friends Burial Ground, Route 138, Richmond. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
