December 25, 1946 — December 17, 2024

Ralph G. Berker, 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 17th, 2024, surrounded by family and leaving behind a legacy of love. Born on December 25, 1946, in Providence, Rhode Island, he was the beloved son of the late Ralph C. Berker Jr. and Virginia M. Berker (Daniels). He is predeceased by his younger brother, Guy R. Berker.

Ralph was a graduate of Pilgrim High School, class of 1965. He served two years in Germany as a helicopter mechanic during the Vietnam War. Ralph went on to build a successful landscaping business.

In 1974, he married the love of his life, Roberta E. Berker (St. John), and together they shared 50 wonderful years filled with joy, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. Ralph was a devoted father to his two daughters, Cheryl Berker, married to Dan Matoney, and Michelle Vekakis (Berker), married to Thomas Vekakis. He took immense pride in being a Papa to his two grandsons, Samuel Vekakis and Henry Matoney, who brought him endless happiness.

A man of many passions, Ralph had a particular fondness for fast cars. He was affectionately known as Poncho by his “Howdy’s Crew”. These friendships lasted for over 60 years. He cherished every moment spent with his family and friends, making memories that will be treasured forever.

Ralph will be remembered for his gruff exterior, his heart of gold, his willingness to help others, and the love he shared with those around him. He leaves behind a family who will honor his memory by living life to the fullest, just as he did.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

Rest in peace, Ralph. You will be deeply missed.
