Radley Joseph Dougherty

Radley Joseph Dougherty, 53, of Hope Valley, passed away suddenly on April 15, 2021. He was born in San Diego, California, to Captain Robert J. Dougherty, US Navy, Retired and Ruth Anne (Lepore) Dougherty. He served in the Army from 1989 to 1993. He worked for many years as a cross country truck driver, and as a mechanic. He enjoyed working with the public. He was an avid reader, especially of science fiction. Rad is survived by his father, Captain Robert J. Dougherty, US Navy Retired and his wife Commander Nancy Dougherty, US Navy Retired; his mother, Ruth Anne Daugherty and her partner Cynthia L. Drake; his brother, Robert Jonathan Dougherty and his wife Ellie and their three children, Jonathan, Ben, and James; Rachel (Dougherty) Flynn and her husband Bryan Flynn; Ryan Drake and his fiancé Heather and children, Kelley and Virginia; and his late sister, Rebecca Lovett and her two sons, David Barrington and Dari Barrington. Rad was a friendly soul who will be missed by his family and friends. There will be a private service for family at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
