Phyllis Nelson

Filomena "Phyllis" Nelson. She was born on November 28, 1916 in New Haven Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Creszena and Agnes (Conti) DeMartine. She was the eldest of 8 children. Phyllis had 3 sisters, Rose, Mary and Edith and 4 brothers, Frank, Mario, Alphonzo and Pat. She survived 3 husbands, Howard Studley of New Haven, John Melillo of New Haven and Freeman Nelson of West Virginia. She is survived by 4 children; Margaret Masiak, Helen Donnelly, John Studley and Frank Studley. Howard Studley pre-deceased her in 1986. Phyllis has 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great granddaughters. She resided in Charlestown R.I. for the past 11 years in her daughter Helen's home. She died peacefully at home on Wednesday, Sept 24 surrounded by her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, in St. Mary's Church in Carolina R.I. at 11 am. There will be a showing from 9-10 am at Avery-Storti Funeral Home in Wakefield R.I.
