Phyllis M. Nason

Phyllis Nason (Maddock), 89, died Thursday, July 19 at Scallop Shell Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Howard K. Nason. Born in Springfield, MA she was the daughter of the late Robert and Hilda Maddock. She moved to Washington, D.C. in 1960 to work for Lawrence F. O'Brien in the Kennedy White House. She continued to work for Mr. O'Brien during his time as Postmaster General and Chairman of the Democratic National Committee. Following her marriage, she moved to Clayton, MO where her husband was CEO of Monsanto Research Corporation. She relocated to Rhode Island in 2005. Phyllis is survived by her brother James Maddock of Myrtle Beach, SC and his wife Mary, and nephews Robert Maddock of Saunderstown, RI, James Maddock of Gold River, CA and the late Jeffrey Maddock as well as several grand-nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Monday July 23rd at Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Road, Kingston. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
