Peter Swanson

Peter Swanson, of Carolina, beloved husband and best friend of Cherie (Tourgee) Swanson passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, on July 30, 2010. Peter & Cherie had been married 33 years. Besides his wife Peter is survived by his parents Harold and Mary (Smith) Swanson of South Kingstown. Along with his loving daughter, Kristen and her husband Chad Trombino of Westerly, and his beloved daughter, Erika & and her husband David Moore of Hope Valley. He will be deeply missed by his amazing and very cherished grandchildren, Maiya, Marissa, and Kallan Trombino, Cameron and Peter James Moore. Peter also leaves his brothers Steven Swanson and his wife Sandra of Exeter, Michael Swanson and his wife Shauni of Scituate, and his sister Tricia Andersen of South Kingstown; sister in law Gail Robnett, and brother in law Carl Tourgee, both of Exeter, along with several nieces and nephews. Peter treasured his family and enjoyed traveling with them. He was a passionate outdoorsman, and a nationally recognized archer. He loved to ride his Harley, and was a loyal Red Sox and NE Patriots fan. He will be remembered for his quick wit, and above all his humble presence. Peter was employed by The State of RI at URI as a building superintendent for the past 20 years A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Peter’s life will be held Wednesday at 10 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High St., Wakefield. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be Tuesday 5-8 PM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St. Wakefield.
