Peter P. Karpowicz

Peter Paul Karpowicz, 94, of Wakefield, RI, formerly of Belmont, MA passed away Sunday December 16, 2012. Devoted husband of Helen (Reeves) Karpowicz for sixty five years; father of Paul Karpowicz and his wife Susan of Hudson, MA, Gayle Symonds and her husband Stephen of Charlestown, RI, and Kenneth and his wife Alyson of Welleslley, MA; grandfather of Andrew and Kristin Symonds and Matthew Karpowicz; son of the late Ignatius and Agatha Karpowicz; brother of the late Madeleine Massey, James and William Karpowicz and baby Nellie. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Karpowicz served in WW II as a sergeant with the 211th National Guard of MA. Visitation Wednesday 9:00 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, RI, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High St., Wakefield, RI. Burial will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, RI. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boston Globe Santa.
