Peter Charles Foley

February 4, 1986 — December 20, 2020

On December 20, 2020, Peter Charles Foley, 34, of Wakefield, Rhode Island passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Peter was born February 4, 1986 in Providence, Rhode Island to Patricia Foley. He grew up in Wakefield and attended Meeting Street School and South Kingstown Schools. In spite of his challenges, Peter had an infectious smile and made everyone forget his difficulties. For 34 years Peter taught his family and friends hope, patience, compassion and love. By overcoming obstacles, he inspired those he met to try harder and see joy in simple things. His life, an example of perseverance and inner strength, taught us all how to be strong. Considered a hero among those who met him, Peter gave us all the gift of courage. Peter was always smiling and had an incredible sense of humor. He will be forever missed. Peter was active throughout his years and enjoyed horseback riding, sailing, bowling, walks to the park and fishing. He loved spending time with his family, especially at large holiday gatherings and parties, and eating delicious meals made by his mother. He was blessed with a lifetime of dedicated and loving teachers, physicians and caretakers, especially Dan Baker who was like a brother to him. Peter leaves behind his loving mother Patricia, his sisters Kaitlyn (Foley) Czap and Nicole (Welsh) Wholean, brothers-in-law Justin Czap and Kiernan Wholean, and nieces Caroline Wholean, Clair Wholean, Mary Wholean, Eve Czap, nephew Otto Czap, uncle Bill, aunt Dee, and his dog Izzy. Due to current restrictions, a celebration of his life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Meeting Street School.
