Peter P. Costa Jr.

Peter P. Costa, Jr., 60, of Rumford, passed away unexpectedly on May 16, 2025.

Peter was born in Providence on December 8, 1964, to Ann Marie (Coia) Costa and the late Peter P. Costa, Sr. He was the devoted great-nephew and caretaker of the late Virginia P. Coia.

Peter obtained his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Johnson & Wales University. He was an Operations Manager at North Coast Seafoods Inc. of New Bedford and the owner/operator of Rhino Consulting of Providence.

Peter was a man of many talents and a very kind and generous soul. He was always helping others—from mentoring colleagues at work to supporting local causes in need. Peter also generously donated countless hours, as well as his IT expertise and equipment, to update and support the computing infrastructure of many local non-profits.

Peter was the loving father to “Dax the cat” and, in his spare time, enjoyed fishing. He was also a very talented chef. Peter’s love of cooking and passion for food began at an early age, passed down by his great-grandmother, the late Mary Verdi Coia. He was a car enthusiast as well, with his latest restoration project being his beloved black Chevy SS.

Peter is survived by his sister, Christina M. Brown (husband, Michael); niece, Rachel M. Cappalli; lifetime friend and cousin, Father Albert Ranallo; and many friends and family. Peter’s passing has left a void in the hearts of all whose lives he touched.

Although Peter’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his amazing spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. May his memory be a blessing, and may his light shine brightly forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 30th, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, RI. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12 p.m.
