Peter Brooks Cooper passed away on April 14, 2024 in South Kingstown, Rhode Island.
He was born on March 21, 1966 in Holyoke, Massachusetts and attended Belchertown High School where he excelled at Cross Country. Peter's running skills were perfected by outrunning Quabbin Reservoir game wardens as well as coyotes while fishing in restricted areas.
Like both of his Grandfathers before him, Peter defended his country overseas. Peter was extremely proud to be a United States Army Veteran, serving two tours during the Gulf War. You rarely saw Peter without his Operation Desert Storm hat. Peter loved fishing above everything else in life. He was able to check off his bucket list item by attending the BassPro Tour last year. Peter’s passion and skill for freshwater fishing was unmatched, and he had the taxidermy and photos to prove it.
Peter held a wide variety of jobs over the years, but most recently he worked for Belmont Fruit and Produce, where his coworkers and supervisors were family to him.
Peter is predeceased by his parents, Carol and Irving Brooks Cooper III, his stepmother Tina Cooper, and his girlfriend of many years Donna Vuono. Peter is survived by his sister Nancy and stepsister Holly, as well as his nieces, brothers-in-law, many cousins, aunts and uncles. Peter leaves friends around the country and the world. We will all miss Peter tremendously but we know he is peacefully fishing with his loved ones.
A private memorial service will be held. Please consider making a contribution to your favorite charity in Peter’s name.
