Peggy A. Field

Peggy A. Field, 79, of Wakefield, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at the Brentwood Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Edwin L. Field. Born in Tarrytown, NY, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Florence “Peggy” (Bedell) Johnson. Peggy was an award-winning painter. She loved and enjoyed being near the ocean. Peggy loved music, literature, and her family. She also loved cooking and baking, which her family enjoyed. She is survived by her three children, Gretchen Chenard-Murphy, Peter M. Butler and Denis E. Butler, a stepchild, Edwin J. Field, and five grandchildren. She was the stepmother of the late William Gustafson and sister of the late Edgar J. Johnson, Albert A. Johnson, Dorothy Menna, Irene Kuchenmeister and Hilma MacFall. A visitation for Peggy will be held Monday, January 10, 2022 from 9 to 11 AM, with a funeral home service to follow at 11 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St. Wakefield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
