Pauline Ekelund

Pauline Ekelund (Champoux), LPN, 79, of Wakefield, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at the Apple Clipper Rehab in Westerly. She was the loving wife of Daniel D. Ekelund. Born in Putnam, CT, she was a daughter of the late George and Eugene (St. Pierre) Champoux. Pauline enjoyed painting, arts and crafts, and cooking. Besides her husband, she is survived by her three children, Ronald R. Bergeron, Diane M. Bergeron, and Eric D. Ekelund, three grandchildren, and a sister, Doris Switzer. Her funeral will be held Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 10 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St. Wakefield. Burial will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours will be Monday, November 15, 2021 from 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Special Olympics Rhode Island, 370 George Washington Highway, Smithfield, RI 02917.
