Paul R. Pierce, 84, of Coventry, RI, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2026, with his family by his side. A son of the late Paul F. and Doris M. (Wellen) Pierce and the beloved husband of Margaret (Mitchell) Pierce, Paul was a resident of Coventry.
Paul worked as an Independent Marketing Consultant for many years until his retirement. He won many awards through his work over the years and had the opportunity to travel all over the world with his wife, Margaret. Paul served as an Elder at Stony Lane Church for fifteen years and remained very active at Wakefield Baptist Church in more recent years. He was pretty athletic in his earlier years, having played basketball, hockey and baseball. Paul remained an avid sports fan and loved to watch all the Boston teams play in their respective seasons. Most of all, Paul enjoyed the company of his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his beloved wife, Margaret, Paul is survived by his sons, Timothy Pierce and his wife Sheila of Harvest, AL, Stephen Pierce of Rock Hill, SC, Nathan Pierce and his wife Erin of Wakefield, RI, and Jeremy Pierce and his wife Samantha of Syracuse, NY; his brother, Stephen Pierce and his wife Sybil of Saunderstown, RI; his sisters, Janice Sayres of Annapolis, MD and Mary Novasad and her husband Dean of North Kingstown, RI; and his twelve grandchildren, Ian, Micah, Ethan, Julia, Isaiah, Allana and her husband Harold Canada, Sophia, Caitlyn, Jewel, Caspian, Josiah and Isabella. He was the father of the late Paul R. Pierce Jr. and Joel R. Pierce.
Services are in the care of Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St. Wakefield, RI 02879. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Wakefield Baptist Church, 236 Main St. Wakefield, RI 02879. Guests are invited to pay their respects from 9-10AM followed by a service at 10AM. A reception will be hosted at Wakefield Baptist Church after the service.
