Patricia J. Weeden

Patricia J. Weeden, 90, of Kingston, RI, died peacefully on Saturday Evening September 30th. Patricia was born in Singapore, Malaysia on November 6, 1926 to Frances and George Ballentine. She is survived by her daughter Penelope Curtis Bellew; son-in-law Kevin; and grandsons Joseph, Casey, and Conor. Patricia taught in the Textiles Department at the University of Rhode Island for 27 years. She was a member of the Kingston Congregational Church for 74 years. Patricia was known for sewing hundreds of children’s sweaters and school bags and knitting countless children’s sweaters for church projects. She was a volunteer curator at the South County Museum for 22 years. She devoted her time teaching adults to read; enjoying walks in the woods and beaches of Rhode Island; and could often be found tending her gardens. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 12th at 11:00AM in the Kingston Congregational Church, 2610 Kingstown Rd, Kingston, RI. Visiting Hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the South County Museum or to The Education Exchange in her memory would be appreciated
