Patricia Marie Bolster

Patricia M. Bolster, 84, of Narragansett, formerly of Westwood, MA, passed away Thursday. She was the beloved wife of Robert C. Bolster for 59 years. Born in Providence, Patricia was a daughter of the late Raymond and Laura (Flynn) Mahon. She graduated from Cranston High School, Rhode Island State College (now URI), and earned her Master’s degree, with honors, from Brown University. Mrs. Bolster taught English at Ohio State University and Brown University. While residing in Westwood, MA she was a member of the League of Women Voters, and served on the Finance Committee and the By-Law Committee for the Town of Westwood. She was president and treasurer for the Holiday By the Sea Condo Association in Key Largo, FL for over 10 years; and a member of the Brown Alumni Club, the Indian Run Garden Club, was an avid reader, and an accomplished seamstress. Patricia will be remembered as having been a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Patricia is survived by her husband, her four sons, Robert C. Bolster, Jr. of Walpole, MA, Mark W. Bolster of Narragansett, Matthew C. Bolster of Narragansett, and Jon E. Bolster of North Kingstown; nine grandchildren and four great-grandsons; and a sister, Pauline DeRoin of North Conway, NH. She was the sister of the late Raymond Mahon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Tuesday at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Pt. Judith Road, Narragansett. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Monday, 5-8 pm.
