Ottis Winslow, of Wakefield, RI, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2020. She was born April 9, 1926 to Eveline (Mulholland) and Louis J. Scheuermann, in New Orleans, LA. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty years, Donald L. Winslow (1925-1995). She is survived by her children, Kristine (Glen) Rolofson of Wakefield, RI and Don (Jean) Winslow of Julian, CA, her grandchildren Ben (Amber) Rolofson of Round Rock, TX, William Rolofson of Austin, TX, Nancy Petteruti of Wakefield, RI and Thomas Winslow of Washington, DC, and her great grandson John Rolofson, of Round Rock, TX. Ottis was a proud Navy wife, and worked as an assistant librarian at Robert Beverly Hale Library for over twenty-five years. She served as an usher and House Manager at Theatre-by-the-Sea and was a familiar face in the lobby from 1988-2012. She was known for her generosity, hospitality and great fashion sense. Adored by her grandchildren, she called herself the “Shoe Grandma” and made sure that all of them sported quality footwear. Her shopping trips were epic. And no one enjoyed Christmas more. Burial at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be private.
