Oliver Watson Greene, III, 89, of West Kingston, died Tuesday. He was the husband of Marsha Goldstein Greene and the late Elizabeth (Boyd) Greene. Born in Pittsfield, MA he was a son of the late Oliver W, II and Mary (Whaley) Greene. He was a graduate of Mt. Herman School, Northfield, MA and a 1951 graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design. While at RISD, he founded Peter Pots Pottery. He had a great love for flying and was an early member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. He previously ran Glen Rock Stables and participated in horse shows and horse racing, enjoyed antiquing, and was a great story teller. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Jeffrey Greene of North Kingstown; a daughter, Wendy Laferriere of North Kingstown; and two grandchildren, Hayley Elizabeth Greene and Christopher Robert Laferriere A celebration of his life will be celebrated at 2 pm Sunday, April 24th at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. People are encouraged to share a memory or story, during the service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Exeter Animal Shelter, 165 South County Trail, Exeter, RI 02822 or the South Kingstown Dog Pound, 132 Asa Pond Road, Wakefield, RI 02879.
