Okemos Nighthawk Brown-Northup, 28, of Charlestown, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017. Born in Warwick, a son of Meloni Ann Brown of Charlestown and Benjamin F. Northup of Providence. He was a man of very few words but had a smile that was contagious and would light up a room. He was a loving, kind soul who will be missed tremendously by many. Okemos was employed as a stone mason and was a Royal Member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe. Besides his parents he is survived by his children, Annalia L. Simpson and Okemos R. Brown; five brothers, Kahekee M., Lakota S., Cheveyo K. Northup, Benjamin Rollins and Mekhi Northup; six sisters, Juliette J. Northup, Natalie Bingham, Kaisha Carpenter, Cassandra Rollins, Rayneshai Rollins and Love-Lei Northup; his maternal grandparents, Ellison M. Brown, Jr. and Jeanne Marie (Coggswell) Brown; his paternal grandparents, Mary H. (Johnson) Northup and the late Ormand Northup; his uncle, Theodore Brown; his aunt, Lisa Brown and many cousins . Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at 1 pm in the Narragansett Indian Tribe Longhouse, 4425 South County Trail, Charlestown. Burial will be private.
