Norma Jean Briggs

Norma Jean Briggs, 85, of South Kingstown, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 11, 2018. She was the wife of Richard E. Briggs for 67 years. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Louise (Goulart) Vallee. Mrs. Briggs worked as a secretary for the University of RI East Farm. She loved to dance, garden, and do yardwork with her husband. Norma also enjoyed drawing, painting, playing guitar, singing, and camping at Wordens Pond. Besides her husband she is survived by her daughters, Barbara and Brenda Briggs; grandchildren, George Foley Jr. and Crystal Foley; great-grandchildren Daisha, Dylan, Peyton, and Mekye; brothers Robert and Richard Vallee. She was predeceased by her siblings Shirley Briggs, Edward Vallee, and James Vallee. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 5-7pm in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St, Wakefield. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 10:00 am in Avery-Storti Funeral Home followed by a burial in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
