Noreen Cecilia Mccrossen

Noreen Cecilia McCrossen, 83, of Saunderstown, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Friday, April 7, 2017. She was the wife of Richard G. McCrossen. Born in Roslyn, New York to the late Charles and Eileen M.F. (McCabe) Clerkin. Noreen was an accomplished equestrian know especially for her skills in fox hunting along with her beloved horse BJ. During her lifetime, she was a member of Elkridge Hartford Hunt Club. She had a passion for animals, but had a special love for horses and dogs. Besides her husband she is survived by a sister Patricia Swanson and her husband Bob of Florham Park, NJ; children Leland Brookes and his wife Karen of Centennial, CO, Lauren Whittaker of Atlanta, GA, Dale McCrossen and his wife Claire of Castro Valley, CA, Donna Eileen Love and her husband Daniel of Prescott, AZ, and Kathleen Fischer and her husband Doug of Saunderstown, RI; grandchildren Allison, Jenny and Kaitlyn Brookes, James, Ryan, and Keri Whittaker, Alex and Kate Fischer and ten great grandchildren. A memorial service will be celebrated Saturday, April 8th at 11:00 am in the Church of the Ascension, 370 Main St, Wakefield, RI 02879, with a lunch to follow at 333 main Street, Wakefield. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the therapeutic riding program, Gaits of Harmony, 2150 Tower Hill Road, Saunderstown, RI, 02874.
