Noreen A. Casey, 75, of Narragansett, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late William R. Casey, Jr. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Robert W., Sr. and Norah Reynolds) Thatcher. Mrs. Casey graduated from Pawtucket West High School in 1960. She enjoyed travelling extensively and had resided in Hawaii, California, Ohio, Utah, and Pennsylvania, before settling in Narragansett in 1984. Mrs. Casey retired from the Town of Narragansett in 2005 and had previously worked at Wilson’s of Wickford. She had a brief modeling career and was crowned “Queen of the Military Ball” at Providence College in February 1959, and she was runner-up in the Miss Pawtucket Pageant in 1961 and was awarded the Quota Club Award. In her spare time she enjoyed singing, reading, dancing, gardening, cooking, and hosting large family events. She is survived by two children, William K. Casey and his wife Sandi Greene and Noreen Casey-Doherty and her husband Thomas; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother Charles Thatcher and his wife Audrey of Hampton, VA; and a sister-in-law, Ethel Thatcher of Florida. She was the mother of the late Laura Casey and sister of the late Robert Thatcher Jr. and Herbert Thatcher. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 10 am in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Pt. Judith Rd., Narragansett. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
