Nora Elizabeth Delillo

November 23, 1929 — May 10, 2018

Nora E. DeLillo, 88, of Wakefield, passed away Thursday, May 10th. She was the wife of the late Frank DeLillo, to whom she was married for 61 years. Born in Tuckertown, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Ruth E. (Tucker) Corbett. Mrs. DeLillo, a lifelong resident of South Kingstown, was the school secretary at Wakefield Elementary School for 23 years and was a member of the Perryville Grange # 14. Mrs. DeLillo will be remembered as the loving, resilient cornerstone of her family and as a devoted caretaker of her family and friends. She engaged life completely with love and enthusiasm and was never idle. She was skilled at numerous crafts, especially making teddy bears, many of which became gifts and donations, and met regularly with her "Tuesday Group" to work on crafts and share laughter. She loved to travel, visiting many of the states, Germany and England, and wintering in Ft. Myers, Florida, with her late husband. She found new and lasting friendships wherever she went. She loved pets, flowers, good food, good people, the beach (beach glass!), and music, with tastes ranging from Patsy Cline to Bob Marley. Her sense of humor and mischievous nature continue to provide many smiles to those who knew and loved her. She is survived by three children, Joseph DeLillo of Lake Oswego, OR, James DeLillo of Providence, and Gail Paterson of Wakefield; two granddaughters, Amanda Markarov of Cranston and Brynn Bradley of North Kingstown; and four great-grandsons, Samuel, Oliver, Henry, and Hunter. She was the sister of the late George H. "Buddy" Corbett, Jr., Edward B. Corbett, and James W. Corbett. A committal service will be held on Friday May 25th at 12 Noon at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.Relatives and friends are invited and are asked to arrive at the cemetery at 11:45 am. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Womens Resource Center of South County, 61 Main Street, Wakefield, RI 02879.
