Nina N. Deuel

Nina Nipper Deuel, 72, of Millstone Road, Wakefield, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 6, 2013 at home. She was the wife of the late David G. Deuel Sr. Born on February 29, 1940 in Evanston, IL, she was the daughter of the late Wendell Ward and Mildred Gladine (Banta) Nipper. She was sister of the late Wendell Ward Nipper Jr. Mrs. Deuel graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1978 with a degree in anthropology. She was a devout Christian and an Elder and founding member of The Church of the Apostles in Coventry. Mrs. Deuel was a skilled hand-weaver for many years specializing in scarves and shawls. She was a member of The Foundry Artists Association. Nina enjoyed music of all kinds and was a voracious reader. She leaves her children, David G. Deuel Jr. and his wife Daphne of Wakefield, RI, Rebecca E. Walden and her husband Russell of Blacksburg, VA and Peter W. Deuel and his wife Carla of Wakefield, RI; grandchildren, David Deuel III, Alexandra Deuel, Andrew Walden, Sarah Rambikur, Stefanie Walden, Breken Deuel and Alexa Deuel. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 10:00 AM in The Church of the Apostles, 170 Fairview Ave., Coventry. Burial will be private. Visiting hours Friday, January 11, 2013 from 4-7 pm in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Church of the Apostles.
