Nina Calamita

Nina (Diorio) Calamita, 76, of Old Mill Rd., Charlestown, died Saturday at South County Hospital, Wakefield. She was the wife of Joseph T. Calamita for fifty-five years. Born in Fairlawn, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Nina (Ramazio) Diorio. Mrs. Calamita was a secretary at the University of Rhode Island before retiring. She was the mother of Theresa Nobile of Charlestown, James Calamita of Kingston and Joseph Calamita of Charlestown; grandmother of Sasha Maria Nobile of Charlestown; sister of Carmelina Cornetto of NJ, Frances Begga of NJ, Anthony Diorio of PA, Patrick Diorio of NJ and the late Roberta Meyer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 AM in St. James Chapel, 2079 Matunuck Schoolhouse Rd., Charlestown. Visiting hours Tuesday 6-8 PM in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Burial will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
