Neil Richard Pierson

Neil R. Pierson, Sr., 77 of Wakefield, passed away Wednesday, January 3rd. He was the beloved husband of the late Virginia L. (Stedman) Pierson. Born in South Kingstown, he was a son of the late David, Sr. and Margery (Smith) Pierson. Mr. Pierson was employed at South County Sand & Gravel for many years, until retiring. He is survived by six children, Neil Pierson, Jr. of Wakefield, Carl Pierson of Peace Dale, Cynthia Pierson of Wakefield, Deborah Marchetti of Wakefield, Sheila Wise of Hope Valley, and Colleen Zinni of Wakefield; sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; brother of Sylvia Whaley of Wakefield, David Pierson of North Kingstown, Brenda Key of Florida, Janice Hannaford of Arkansas, and Steve Pierson of Peace Dale, the late Joseph Person, Kenneth Pierson, Gail Duncan, Marcia Harvey, and Linda Coble. A funeral service will be held on Friday January 12th at 11 am in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow in New Fernwood cemetery, Kingston. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
