Nancy Jane Spears

Nancy Jane Spears, 72, of Hopkinton, RI, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025.

Born to the late Beatrice May Gardiner Smith and William James Smith, Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was married to her beloved husband, Edmund H. Spears III, for 49 years.

Nancy found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. She had a passion for gardening, baking, sewing, playing the piano, and interior design. Above all, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren, who brought her immense pride and happiness.

She is survived by her loving husband, Edmund; her son, Joshua H. Spears; and her two adored grandchildren, Rivers H. Spears and Azlyn E. Spears.

Nancy is also survived by her siblings: Larry T. Smith (Edna), Diane L. Smith, Jo-Ann K. Ekelund (Daniel), Lisa Mann (Joseph), and Barbara J. Jackson (Douglas). She will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews whose lives she touched deeply.

Nancy's warmth, creativity, and devotion to her family will be remembered always and dearly missed by all who knew her.
