Nancy R. Allen

Nancy Records Allen, 83, formerly of Wakefield, RI, died Tuesday, August 31 at Roberts Health Center. She was married to the late Gideon L. Allen Jr. for 55 years. Nancy was a member of the Wakefield Baptist Church. She was active in the Perryville Grange and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. A loving wife and a devoted mother, Nancy was always there when family called. Nan's sense of humor and love of life were enjoyed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She never missed an opportunity to acknowledge the birthday, special occasion, or needs of others with a card, call, or good deed. Nan and Gid enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. They liked square dancing and appreciated music, especially that provided by family. Nancy is survived by her five children: sons Glenn Allen of Tiverton, Barry Allen of Gulfport, Florida, and Austin Allen of South Pasadena, Florida and daughters Patricia Allen of Colorado Springs and Lisa Sterling of Narragansett. Nancy is also survived by sisters Patricia Curry of North Kingstown, Betty Hendrick of Exeter, and brothers David Records of Hawaii, Austin Records, and Harry Records of Exeter. She was the sister of the late Grace Fulford and Loring Records. Nancy was the proud grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Calling hours will be Friday, September 3 from 6 to 8 pm at the Avery- Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 am at the Wakefield Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Elm Grove Cemetery, North Kingstown.
