Myrtle Rostrup

Myrtle Rostrup, 87 of Wakefield, died Monday at home. Born in Peace Dale, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Margaret (Grant) Bonner. Mrs. Rostrup retired from the University of Rhode Island after many years of service. She was the past president of the Rhode Island Senior Organization, a member of the Narragansett Bay Quilters and was active at The Center in South Kingstown. One of her greatest achievements was volunteering over 1000 hours of her time to South County Hospital. She is survived by a daughter, Peg Rostrup of South Kingstown; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Asting Sullivan and her husband David of Coventry; a great granddaughter, Emma Sullivan of Coventry; and a sister, Shirley Bonner DeBoer of South Kingstown. She was the mother of the late I. Charles Rostrup, III, and sister of the late Lee Bonner and Bob Bonner. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 8th at 2 PM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
