Milton S. Hackett

Milton S. “Bud” Hackett, 75, of Leisure Dr., Wakefield, RI, formerly of Newtown, CT, died Saturday. He was the beloved husband of Madeline (Boucher) Hackett. Born in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of the late Milton P. and Florence (Miller) Hackett. Mr. Hackett was a US Navy Veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was a service installer for Southern New England Telephone for 38 years before retiring. He enjoyed woodworking, genealogy, gardening and watching his grandchildren play sports. Besides his wife he leaves four sons, Jeffrey Hackett and his wife Elizabeth of Southbury, CT, Peter Hackett of Bristol, RI, Gregory Hackett and his wife Colleen of Middlebury, CT and Patrick Hackett and his wife Allicyn of Tiverton, RI; four grandchildren, Kelly, Ryan, Sean and Matthew. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 AM in St. Mary Church, 437 Carolina Back Rd., Carolina, RI.
