Milford “Mickey” Champlin, Jr., 75 , formerly of Boon Street, Narragansett, passed away peacefully Wednesday January 27, 2010 at South County Hospital. He was the husband of the late Delores (DeBritto) Champlin and the late Nancy (Gray) Champlin. Born in South Kingstown, he was a son of the late Milford Sr. and Pearl B. (Reels) Champlin. Mr. Champlin was the former director of the Hartford Park Community Center in Providence and he was also an Animal Control Officer for the town of Narragansett, before retiring. He served in the US Air Force and was a member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe. He is survived by three sons, Chico Champlin, III, Carlos “Kiki” and Jeffrey Champlin; four daughters, Denise, Rosalind, Carla and Roseanne Champlin; four brothers, Eugene, Douglas, Craig and Gary Champlin; eight sisters, Barbara Sekator, Shirley Champlin-Christy, Gloria Fry, Virginia Perry, Sheila Champlin-Levy, Donna Maddox, Cynthia and Gail Champlin; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be Monday at 11 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
