Mildred Ruth Everett, 90, of Wakefield, October 28, 2014. She was the wife of the late Harold L. Everett, Sr. Born in Westerly, she was a daughter of the late Irving E. and Lucy (Hopkins) Johnson. Mrs. Everett was employed at the University of Rhode Island for many years, until retiring. Millie was a member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe, was musically inclined and enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. Millie is survived by five children, Gloria F. Everett of North Kingstown, James R. Everett of Wakefield, Carol A. Spears of Wakefield, Shirley M. Everett Brown of Wakefield, and Delores A. Harvin of Providence; a brother, Harry M. Johnson of Wakefield; two daughter-in-laws, Betty Everett of Wakefield and Renee Everett of Wakefield; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Millie was the mother of the late Harold L. Everett Jr., and sister of the late William Johnson, Everett Johnson, Elsie Champlin, Alice Monroe, Olive Whitford, and Abbie Stokes. A funeral service will be held Saturday 11:00 a.m. at the Narragansett Indian Church, Charlestown, followed by a reception at the Four Winds Community Center. Burial will be private.
