Michelle Lillian Senecal

The world lost an exceptional wife, mother and grandmother, Michelle Lillian (Godon) Senecal, on October 9, 2022. Michelle passed away at home surrounded by her devoted husband, Kenneth Senecal, her children, Chad Senecal, Ryan Senecal and Emily Speakman, and her son- and daughter-in-law, David Speakman and Jayne Merner Senecal.

Michelle’s favorite place to be was anywhere the whole family was together, especially her seven grandchildren: Jackson, Averi, Cooper, Lily, Wyatt, Estelle and Charlotte. There was always room for one (or fourteen) more at the table when Michelle made her weekly family dinners. Watchaug Pond in Charlestown, RI, was a place that brought her great joy, above all when sharing times there with her loved ones.

Michelle was born in Woonsocket, RI, on June 17, 1952, to Rita “Doris” and Raymond Godon, the fourth of five children. She is survived by her three sisters, Ellen Lambert, Jacqueline Champoux and Susan Boczar, her brother, Richard Godon and all their spouses who she felt very close to.

Michelle dearly loved children, which led to her career as a special education elementary school teacher. She made every child who crossed her threshold feel loved, safe, healthy and fed. Her colleagues knew her as a kind soul, always willing to cheer kids up with a hug.

Friends are invited to say a final goodbye to Michelle during calling hours on Friday, October 14th from 4pm-7pm in Avery Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 15th at 11 am. in St. James Chapel, 2079 Matunuck School House Rd, Charlestown, RI. All are welcome to attend.
