Michel R. Frappier, 71, peacefully passed away at home on June 19, 2023. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late George and Paula (Tanguay) Frappier. He was the beloved husband of Katheleen Hawes.
Michel was a cherished teacher at The Prout School for 20 years before retiring in 2020. Along with being a teacher at Prout, he coached the girls cross country and track & field. He was a co-founder of the annual food pantry drive nicknamed “Bulking Up for the Banks” in which he would comically impersonate Arnold Schwarzenegger to encourage students to make donations. Michel prided himself in his work and time spent at The Prout School.
Aside from his career, Michel was a devote catholic and Lector at Christ the King Church. He was affiliated as an oblate of St. Meinrad Archabbey, where he attended seminary. He was also a member of the South Kingstown Elks.
Besides his wife, Michel leaves behind his children, Nathan M. Frappier, Daniel M. Frappier, and Andrew G. Frappier, a grand-daughter, Halle Jane Frappier, and brother, Gerard Frappier.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 10 am in Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Rd, Kingston, RI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023, 5 PM to 7 PM in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St, Wakefield, RI.
