Michael T. Schafer

Michael T. Schafer, 37 of Wakefield, died unexpectedly Saturday. He was the husband of Kathleen (Lyons) Schafer. Born in Red Bank, NJ, he was the son of John Schafer and Elaine (Garbowsky) Ferrari. Michael loved the beach, surfing, boating, snowboarding, New Jersey Taylor Ham, and the Green Bay Packers. He will be remembered as being a totally devoted husband and father. Besides his wife, he is survived by three children, Mia Celeste Schafer, Mikey Schafer, Jr. and Bodey John George Schafer, all at home; his mother Elaine Ferrari and her husband David of Berkeley Heights, NJ, his father John Schafer and his wife Linda of Mantoloking, NJ; a brother, John M. Schafer of Orlando, FL; two step brothers, Bobby Schimmenti and Michael Schimmeti, both of West Palm Beach, FL; as well as many aunts uncles and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 10 am Thursday at St. James Chapel, 2079 Matunuck School House Road, Charlestown. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale.
