Michael J. Conlon, 58, of Wakefield , died Thursday. He was the beloved husband of Alicia (Anderson) Conlon. Born in Albany, NY, he was a son of the late John and Maryellen (O’Meara) Conlon. Mr. Conlon was a Sherriff for the Washington County New York Sherriff’s Department for 20 years. After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, especially cabinet making. He as was big fan of classic cars, in particular his 1966 Mustang, and he also enjoyed music and playing golf. He will be remembered for his unique sense of humor. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, James Conlon of Wakefield; a sister Cathy Rapone of Merritt Island, FL.; his in-laws, Jeanne and Richard Anderson, Chris Anderson, David and Peggy Anderson, Karen and Chuck Hackett, Gail and Doyle Daniel; as well as many nieces and nephews. A Funeral service will be 10 AM Monday at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston. Visiting hours are Sunday 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to South County Hospital, 100 Kenyon Avenue, Wakefield, RI 02879.
