Michael Francis Champlin

Michael F. Champlin 70, of Narragansett passed away on Thursday November 18th, 2021, at home. Born in South Kingstown, son of the late Loretta D. (Rogers) Champlin and Kenneth V. Champlin Sr. Grandson of the late Thomas H. Gould and Doris B. (Rice) Gould and Leon Mayfield Champlin and Madeline (Dillion) Champlin Brother of Kevin G. Champlin and the late Cynthia K. Champlin, Sandra J. Champlin and Kenneth V. Champlin Jr. Mike was a Commercial Fisherman for many years and retired from the Bait Company in 2015 after 20 years of dedicated attention and care. Michael had the “old school” work ethic, get the job done and get it right. He loved spending time with his family and attending his grand children’s’ baseball, flag football, soccer and basketball games. He enjoyed maintaining the lawn, garden, and bird feeders at the house. He was especially proud of his dahlias and enjoyed sharing them with his friends. He was an avid reader, liked walking the beach, eating lunch on the deck with his family, taking a drive “down the point” or to visit his daughters and grandchildren at their homes. Mike was the father of the late beloved Holly Champlin Mather (James, Janie, Jameson Mather) West Kingston. He is survived by his wife Denise (Johnston) Champlin of Narraganset and their Golden Retriever Zeke; Daughter Laurel J. Champlin (Michael B. Lodge) of Narragansett; Son in law James W. Mather and grandchildren Jameson C. Mather and Janie A. Mather of West Kingston and good friend, Andrea Incollingo. The Funeral Service will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Pt. Judith Fishermen’s Scholarship Fund, P.O.
