Michael John Casey

Michael John Casey, 59, of Wakefield, passed away Monday, December 16th. Born in Warwick, he was the son of Richard T. and Maria-Elena (Carranza) Casey. Michael was a graduate of East Greenwich High School. He worked as a commercial fisherman and was a mechanic for Taylor Rental of North Kingstown for many years. Michael was a colorful soul with a big heart and a zest for life. Michael loved watching NASCAR and especially loved Chevrolet. Michael also had a fondness for motorcycles both dirt bikes and road bikes. Besides his parents he is survived by his two children, Kayla L. Casey and Sean M. Casey; seven grandchildren; his brothers, Richard J. Casey and his wife Kelly, Joseph R. Casey and his wife Lisa Lynn, and James A. Casey; as well as many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held at Avery-Storti Funeral Home on Friday, December 20th from 4-6 p.m. with a prayer service at 5:30p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to : The American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org or to the Jonnycake Center or Peace Dale, RI, www.jonnycakecenter.org.
