Merrill Mason Young, Sr.

Merrill Mason Young, Sr. 66, of North Kingstown, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2009. He was born on October 13, 1943 in Wakefield, RI to Bernice Mae (Walmsley) Young of Slocum and the late Edward Mason Young. He was the devoted companion to Jean Golding of North Kingstown. Merrill was employed as a stone mason. He is survived by five sons; Merrill Marvin Matthew Young of Preston, CT, Lance Young of Providence, Wayne Young of Kingston, John Young of Mystic, CT, Merrill Mason Young, Jr. of Columbus, OH; two daughters; Roxanne Young-Perry of Norwich, CT. and Pamela Young Forest of Providence; three sisters; Joyce Young of North Kingstown, Diane LaFrance of Warwick, and Lorraine Bailey of Slocum; 22 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and many more cousins. He was the brother of the late Ronald, Rodney and Wayne Young. Calling hours at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 11 AM. Burial will follow in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston.
