Melissa Ann “Missy” Stark, 34, of Wakefield, died Wednesday, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of John Stark, VIII. Born in Livonia, Michigan, she was a daughter of Linda L. (Mikel) Cook of Brighten, Michigan, and the late Roger A. Cook, who died Tuesday. She attended Western Michigan University and graduated from the University of Rhode Island. Missy was an English and Portfolio Teacher at South Kingstown High School, for the past three years. Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by three children, John Stark, IX, Abigail May Stark, and Cordelia “Delia” M. Stark, all at home; two sisters, Amy L. Garland of Chicago, IL and Sarah J. Slater of Pickney, MI; and a brother, Jeffrey A. Cook of Milford, MI. A celebration of Missy’s life will be held Saturday, June 23rd at 10:30 AM in the Auditorium at South Kingstown High School, 215 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
