Maurice C. Passeroni of Wakefield passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the age of 61. He will be lovingly remembered by his two sons, Matthew and Alexander Passeroni, his former wife, Karen (Tinaro) Passeroni, his two sisters, Claudette Downey and her husband J. Michael, and Suzanna Judson and her husband Malcolm, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Francis Passeroni, and a son of the late Leon "Leo" and Leonor (Cadena) Passeroni. Maurice was born in Westerly and lived most of his life in Narragansett and Wakefield. He was well known in the community due in part to the many years he owned and operated Leo's Service Center in Narragansett. He was once featured in a local newspaper column called "Good Folks" for helping a father and son get home when they were stranded on the side of the road. Those who knew him remember him for his kindness, reliability, and always being willing to lend a helping hand. His love of cars extended beyond his work as he enjoyed going to shows and races, and once participated in a demolition derby. Growing up a stone's throw from Narragansett Pier instilled a lifelong love of the ocean, beaches, and the warm summer weather. Above all else, he was a proud and loving father who was always a supportive and encouraging presence for his two sons. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Wednesday April 4th at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street. Visiting hours are Tuesday April 3rd, 5- 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Maurice to the American Heart Association, PO Box 4177005 Boston, MA 02241-7005.
