Matthew Paul Bianchi, 71, of Narragansett, passed away Wednesday, March 11th. He was the beloved husband of Michele (Texler) Bianchi for 46 years. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he was the youngest of 13 children to Annibele and Marie Bianchi of Luca, Italy. Mr. Bianchi was a Master Builder and artist. He retired to Narragansett 4 years ago, after living in various places such as Montreal, Costa Rica, Dallas, and San Diego throughout his life. At a young age he became interested in model trains, and it was a hobby he remained passionate about his entire life. He served honorably in the Army during the Vietnam War and later became a contractor and business owner for the next 40 years. He added his own flair and style to everything he did in life. He loved cooking, design and building, singing, painting, gardening, camping, white water rafting, sledding, skiing, and making sand sculptures at the beach. Matts family was the most important thing in the world to him, and Michele was top on that list. His family and friends look up to him for his integrity, work ethic, unwavering faith, generosity, and artistry. Mr. Bianchi loved to cook for anyone who came through his door, and his famous linguine with clam sauce, lasagna, spaghetti bolognese, potato pancakes, PapaZone, pizza, spinach & turkey and ricotta ravioli, and "lumps" and twinkie ice cream sandwiches are some of his specialties. Besides his wife he is survived by four children and their partners, Rachel Bianchi of Narragansett, Adriana Bianchi and Ward S. Osborne of Narragansett, Benjamin Paul and Akiko Bianchi of London, England, and Darla Leanne Bianchi and Brahm Grard Booth of Toronto, Canada; and nine grandchildren, Justine Renee, Blake Anthony, Claire Abigail, Madeline Grace, Melanie Erin, Mika, Remi, Carey Hudson Booth, and Cameron Michael, as well as four siblings, Christopher John, Benita, Christina, and Faye. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Monday 3-5pm, followed by a funeral service at 5 pm. Burial with military honors will be private in the Rhode island Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
