Mary B. Stewart

November 2, 1922 — April 25, 2016

Mary B. Stewart, 93, of Wakefield, passed away Monday. She was the wife of the late George T. Stewart. Mrs. Stewart was former member of the Gray Ladies, now VNA of South County, the Kingston Gladiola Society, the USO, a volunteer librarian at South Road School, and was a founding member of Chris the King Parish and a member of the Holy Rosary and Altar Society. She was an accomplished seamstress and was a fine woodworker and refinisher. In her younger years she enjoyed camping and travelling to Europe, California, and Canada, Surviving are her four beloved sons, Donald T. Stewart of Trenton, NC, Stephen O. Stewart of Wakefield, George T. Stewart of Meriden, CT, and Jay T. Stewart of Lenox, MA; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am Friday in Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Road, Kingston. Burial will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Thursday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Catholic Charity Fund Appeal, Office of Stewardship & Development - One Cathedral Square - Providence, RI 02903.
